Is a member of FTMR, Chair of the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group and member of its Executive Committee. He is also the CEO of Patent Solutions Group a spin-off from FTMR and a Legal Process Outsourcing company focusing on providing patent support services. He is admitted to practice in patent cases before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In addition, he is admitted to practice before the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. He has a B.S. Degree in Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) and a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico Law School, where Mr. Torres administers an International Patent Law and Practice and a Patent Practice elective course as an adjunct professor since 2001.  Mr. Torres completed MIT’s Sloan School of Business Entrepreneurship Development Program which focuses in High-Tech ventures in January, 2009.

Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Torres joined McConnell Valdés where he was an associate in the Corporate Law Department from 1998 to 2001, and a member of the Environmental Law Practice Group and the Intellectual Property Law Practice Group as well as a founding member of the Internet and Patent Law Practice Group.

Mr. Torres is actively involved in leadership positions in several associations or groups, which promote the development of the technology sector in Puerto Rico. Due to his leadership in Intellectual Property and Technology Law, Mr. Torres was asked to participate in the Technology and Telecommunications Committee of “Misión 2025” and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Puerto Rico Commerce and Export Company in connection with the Puerto Rico Cyber Center. In addition, he was named to the Federal District Court Electronic Case Filing Attorney Advisory Group, and has been consulted at different times by members of the Legislative Assembly of Puerto Rico regarding the promulgation of intellectual property or technology related legislation in Puerto Rico.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Internet Society of Puerto Rico and of the Luis Muñóz Marín Foundation (name after the first elected Governor of Puerto Rico).

Mr. Torres has been appointed grader and drafter of the Puerto Rico Bar Exam by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. He has published several articles relating to Intellectual Property and/or Internet Law and has frequently been a featured speaker in multiple events and seminars relating to Intellectual Property, Technology, and Internet Law. Mr. Torres concentrates his practice on intellectual property and technology, entertainment, and general corporate law. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the International Trademark Association, the National Association of Patent Law Practitioners, the American Bar Association and its Intellectual Property Law Committee, the Puerto Rico Bar Association and its Intellectual Property Law Committee, and the Federal Bar Association and its Intellectual Property and Communications Law Section.
 Mr. Torres is also a member of the Interamerican Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI), where he has been appointed to the  Information Technology Committee for 2009-2012.
