FTMR offers a competitive fee for preparing and filing trademark applications in Puerto Rico. As explained in detail on the Schedule of fees below, the total cost for filing a trademark in Puerto Rico is $650.00 US per class. Prior to any trademark filing, all fees must be deposited in advance in FTMR's trust account. This money remains property of the client until the actual filing is complete.

In addition, you will need to submit to us prior to filing the following information and Documents:
1.Description of all products and/or services that the trademark and/or service mark will designate;
2.Complete name of the owner of the trademark and its corporate name, if any;
3.The postal address and primary office of the owner of the trademark as well as his phone number and fax number, if any;
4.The citizenship of the owner of the trademark and, if a corporation, the country or state under which it was organized (if a partnership, the citizenship of each one of its partners);
5.The date the trademark was first used in commerce in Puerto Rico; if the trademark has not been used in commerce, it will be registered as an "Intent to Use";
6.If the trademark is already in use in Puerto Rico, five (5) specimens or originals of the mark, as used in commerce in connection with the services or products, shall be submitted together with the trademark application. For trademarks (products) a tag or label of the product or a picture of the packaging or product with said trademark is usually used as a specimen. For service marks, informative brochures, business cards, newspaper advertising of the service, and any kind of stationary, including letterheads, can be used as specimens. If the trademark has not been used in commerce in Puerto Rico, instead of the specimen, a color image or drawing of the trademark, as it is intended to be used, and five (5) copies thereof must be submitted. The drawing will not be of a size larger than 8
½ inches by 11 inches.
